Taxonomy
Spirelytha fredericksi was named by Archbold and Thomas (1984). Its type specimen is CPC 19931, a shell (Articulated internal mould and external impression), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is BMR C255, Callytharra Springs, Byro Homestead, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in the Callytharra Formation of Australia.
