Taxonomy
Rhipidomella miscella was named by Cooper and Grant (1976). Its type specimen is USNM 150340a, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM705k, Leonard Mountain, Glass Mountains, which is in an Artinskian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Lenox Hills Formation of Texas.
