Taxonomy
Triproetus angustus was named by Brezinski (1992). Its type specimen is USNM 447533, a cephalon/head, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM701c, Wolf Camp Hills, Glass Mountains, which is in an Asselian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Neal Ranch Formation of Texas.
