Anisopyge antiqua was named by Girty (1908). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM706e, Hess Canyon, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian marine limestone in the Word Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Delaria antiqua by Brezinski (1992).
