Taxonomy
Lamellospira spinosa was named by Batten (1989). Its type specimen is USNM 431607 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM712z, Wolf Camp Hills, Glass Mountains, which is in an Asselian marine limestone in the Neal Ranch Formation of Texas.
