Taxonomy
Tapinotomaria submirabilis was named by Batten (1958). Its type specimen is USNM 133293a and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM703, Old Word Ranch, Glass Mountains, which is in a Roadian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Road Canyon Formation of Texas.
