Taxonomy
Tapinotomaria coronata was named by Batten (1958). Its type specimen is USNM 133295 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM728, Guadalupe Pass, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas.
