Taxonomy
Hercoglossa harrisi was named by Miller and Thompson (1937) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Marac Quarry (Rutsch locality 22), which is in a Thanetian marine limestone in the Soldado Formation of Trinidad and Tobago.
