Taxonomy
Eutrephoceras pernambucense was named by Maury (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Maria Farinha - Nautiloidea, which is in a Paleocene carbonate limestone in Brazil.

It was corrected as Eutrephoceras pernambucensis by Maury (1930); it was recombined as Cimomia pernambucensis by Miller (1947); it was recombined as Cimomia pernambucense by Miller and Thompson (1937) and Simone and Zelaya (2004).
