Trochus triumphator was named by Martin (1879) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Indonesia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Astralium triumphator by Martin (1919); it was recombined as Guildfordia triumphator by Skwarko and Sufiati (1994) and van den Hoek Ostende et al. (2002).
