Taxonomy
Megasteges nepalensis was named by Waterhouse (1975) [Not stated where types are held]. Its type specimen is Specimen 314 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is W1275, Section 13, Popagaon, Karnali, which is in a Changhsingian marine siliciclastic in the Senja Formation of Nepal.
