Vnigripecten phosphaticus
Taxonomy
Aviculopecten phosphaticus was named by Girty (1910). Its type specimen is USNM 1737, a valve (left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is USGS 988c, Coal Canyon bed 9, which is in a Roadian offshore ramp limestone in the Phosphoria Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Vnigripecten phosphaticus by Muromtseva and Guskov (1984) and Newell and Boyd (1995).
