Taxonomy
Dielasmina guadalupensis was named by Girty (1908). Its type specimen is USNM 118580a, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Plectelasma guadalupense by Cooper and Grant (1976) and Torres-Martínez et al. (2019).
