Faberoceras was named by Flower (1946) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-u O Ashg-l Sepkoski's reference number: 298,524].

It was assigned to Westonoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964) and Crick (1981); and to Discosorida by Sepkoski (2002).
