Taxonomy
Camarophoria venusta was named by Girty (1908). Its type specimen is USNM 118557, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Stenoscisma venusta by Coogan (1960); it was recombined as Stenoscisma venustum by Grant (1965) and Cooper and Grant (1976).
