Taxonomy
Productus dichotomocostatus was named by Licharew (1937). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Urushten Tract, P2b horizon, NW Caucasus, which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.

It was recombined as Caucasoproductus dichotomocostatus by Kotlyar et al. (2004) and He et al. (2009).
