Taxonomy
Chlamys (Plagioctenium) reedsi was named by Vokes (1938). Its type specimen is Amer. Mus. No. 24989, a valve (one valve), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Springvale (AMNH collection), which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in Trinidad and Tobago.
