Taxonomy
Hemiptychina kutorgi was named by Smirnova (2007). Its type specimen is PIN 2073/1036, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Geranos Creek, Vedi River 2, Gnishik Horizon, which is in a Wordian marine limestone in the Gnishik Formation of Armenia.
