Parametopaster villieri was named by Breton and Néraudeau (2008). Its type specimen is Holotype MHNH 9145, paratypes MHNH 9146-9149 and is not a trace fossil.

G. Breton and D. Néraudeau 2008Marginal plates low. Enlarged distal superomarginal longeur than wide, trapezoidal in abactinal view, triangular to rounded in abradial view, and in contact with four inferomarginal plates. Pedicellariae-pits oval, elongate. Ornament of dense granule-pits throughout the external face.
