Mariella (Mariella) bergeri
Taxonomy
Turrilites bergeri was named by Brongniart (1822) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; Cosmopolitan.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is CAS loc. 31097, Dry Creek, Tehama, which is in a Cenomanian marine shale in California. It is the type species of Mariella, Mariella (Mariella).
It was recombined as Mariella bergeri by Young (1979), Kennedy et al. (1998) and Arkadiev et al. (2000); it was recombined as Mariella (Mariella) bergeri by Förster (1975), Atabekyan (1985), Henderson (1990), Kennedy and Cobban (1993), Szives (2007), Kennedy and Latil (2007), Mosavinia et al. (2014) and Gautam et al. (2019).
It was recombined as Mariella bergeri by Young (1979), Kennedy et al. (1998) and Arkadiev et al. (2000); it was recombined as Mariella (Mariella) bergeri by Förster (1975), Atabekyan (1985), Henderson (1990), Kennedy and Cobban (1993), Szives (2007), Kennedy and Latil (2007), Mosavinia et al.
