Itwebeoceras lornae was named by van Hoepen (1968) [DISTRIBUTION: Coniacian; South Africa.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Locality 13, Mzinene River, which is in a Coniacian marine siltstone in the St Lucia Formation of South Africa.
It was recombined as Reesidites lornae by Kennedy and Wright (1983).
