Maorites tenuicostatum
Taxonomy
Kossmaticeras tenuicostatum was named by Marshall (1917). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Q08/f9636, Shoreline, NE of Batley, Kaipara Harbour, which is in an Arowhanan/Haumurian marine horizon in New Zealand.
It was recombined as Maorites tenuicostatus by Marshall (1926), Henderson (1970) and Lahsen and Charrier (1972); it was recombined as Maorites tenuicostatum by Kennedy and Klinger (1985).
