Taxonomy
Ancyloceras krekeleri was named by Wegner (1905) [DISTRIBUTION: Santonian; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Boehmoceras.

It was recombined as Boehmoceras krekeleri by Summesberger (1979), Kennedy and Christennsen (1993) and Kennedy (1995).
