Taxonomy
Gyaloceras ibo was named by Reyment (1955) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; Nigeria.]. Its type specimen is BMNH U3545, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bansara road, halfway between Cross River and Abakaliki, which is in an Albian coastal sandstone in the Nwofe Sandstone Formation of Nigeria.
