Ammonites recticostatus was named by d'Orbigny (1840) [DISTRIBUTION: Aptian; Europe.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Costidiscus recticostatus by Douvillé (1916); it was recombined as Macroscaphites (Costidiscus) recticostatus by Landra et al. (2000).
