Taxonomy
Vascoceras tavense was named by Faraud (1940) [DISTRIBUTION: Turonian; Europe.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Colline de Bernon, near Tresques, which is in a Turonian marine sandstone in France.
It was synonymized subjectively with Vascoceras (Paravascoceras) cauvini by Meister et al. (1992); it was recombined as Spathites (Jeanrogericeras) tavense by Kennedy (1994), Barroso-Barcenilla (2007) and Kennedy and Gale (2016).
