Taxonomy
Hamites tuberculatus was named by Sowerby (1818) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; Cosmopolitan.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Idiohamites.

It was recombined as Idiohamites tuberculatus by Henderson (1990).
