Taxonomy
Chonostegoides armenicus was named by Sarycheva (1965). Its type specimen is PIN 2071/61 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ogbin 2, Gnishik Fm, Dzhagra River, which is in a Wordian marine horizon in the Gnishik Formation of Armenia.
