Taxonomy
Orthothetina arakeljani was named by Sokolskaja (1965). Its type specimen is PIN 2072/3 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Meekella arakeljani by Liao (1980), Zhan (1989), Yanagida and Nakornsri (1999), Shen and Shi (2007) and Angiolini and Carabelli (2010).
