Camarophoria multiplicata was named by King (1850).

It was synonymized subjectively with Camarophoria schlotheimi by Geinitz (1861); it was recombined as Camerophoria multiplicata by Dunbar (1955); it was recombined as Stenoscisma multiplicatum by Grant (1965).
