Kayentapus soltykovensis

Taxonomy
Grallator (Eubrontes) soltykovensis was named by Gierlinski (1991). Its type specimen is MGIW 1560.II.12, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Soltyków (lower), which is in a Hettangian crevasse splay wackestone in the Zagaje Formation of Poland.

It was recombined as Kayentapus soltykovensis by Gierlinski (1996), Gierlinski and Pienkowski (1999), Kordos (2000), Mietto et al. (2000), Pienkowski (2004), Milàn and Gierlinski (2004), Lockley et al. (2006), Lucas et al. (2006), Milner et al. (2009), Li et al. (2010), Lockley et al. (2011), Osi et al. (2011), Petti et al. (2011), Dalman (2012), Xing et al. (2014) and Wagensommer et al. (2016).

G. Gierlinski 1991Bipedal. Tridactyl large pes with digits II-IV impressed. Metatarsal-phalangeal pads of digits II and IV made an isolated oblong posterior impression. The third digit is longest. The angle between digits II and IV varies from 50° to 60°. The angle between digits IV and III is always larger than that one between digits III and II.
G. Gierlinski and A. Ahlberg 1994Bipedal. The pes is functionally tridactyl; a large pes with metatarsal-phalangeal pads of the digits III and IV impressed. The metatarsal-phalangeal pad of the digit II and the hallux are rarely imprinted. Sometimes, metatarsal-phalangeal pads of digits III and IV has made an isolated oblong posterior impression. The digits are thin, long and highly divaricated. The projection of the third digit beyond the lateral digits varies from 33% to 40% of the whole pes length. The third digit is the longest one. The angle between the digits II and IV varies from 46° to 73°. The angle between the digits III and IV is always larger than the one between the digits II and III.
