Taxonomy
Navahopus coyoteensis was named by Milàn et al. (2008). It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Coyote Buttes tracksite, which is in a Pliensbachian/Toarcian dune sandstone in the Navajo Sandstone Formation of Arizona/Utah.
