Microdyromys was named by de Bruijn (1966). Its type is Microdyromys koenigswaldi.

Lingual side of uppcr check teeth ornamented. The four main ridges of M1, M2 and M3 are connected to an endoloph. Anterior centroloph of M1 and M2 longer than the posterior centroloph. P4 and M3 relatively large compared to other genera. The accessory ridges are lower than the main ridges. |
