Shasticrioceras whitneyi was named by Anderson (1938) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Cretaceous; Pacific Coast, North America.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS Loc. 1653, near Mitchell Creek, which is in an Aptian/Albian marine siliciclastic in the Budden Canyon Formation of California.
