Taxonomy
Barroisiceras brancoi was named by Solger (1904). Its type specimen is AMNH 27887/1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Barroisiceras (Solgerites) brancoi by Benavides-Caceres (1956); it was recombined as Solgerites brancoi by Bassé (1947), Reyment (1954) and Reyment (1958).
