Taxonomy
Trupetostroma tenue was named by Stearn (1961). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Southesk-Cairn complex, Obstruction Mountain, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Cairn Formation of Canada.
