Taxonomy
Craspedites semilaevis was named by Koenen (1902). It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Neocraspedites.

It was recombined as Neocraspedites semilaevis by Jeletzky and Kemper (1988); it was recombined as Tollia (Neocraspedites) semilaevis by Alsen (2006).
