Taxonomy
Polyptychites undulatocostatus was named by Donovan (1953) [DISTRIBUTION: Valanginian; Greenland.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Neocraspedites undulatocostatus by Jeletzky and Kemper (1988); it was synonymized subjectively with Euryptychites (Propolyptychites) stubendorffi by Bogomolov (1989); it was recombined as Tollia (Neocraspedites) undulatocostata by Alsen (2006).
