Taxonomy
Olcostephanus rectangulatus was named by Bogoslowsky (1902) [DISTRIBUTION: Valanginian; Greenland, Siberia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Siberites rectangulatus by Bogomolov (1989); it was recombined as Polyptychites (Primitiviptychites) rectangulatus by Alsen (2006).
