Taxonomy
Trigonia pseudocaudata was named by Hector (1886) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Cretaceous; New Zealand.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is O32/f8025 [Okarahia Sandstone], which is in a Piripauan coastal sandstone in the Okarahia Sandstone Formation of New Zealand.

It was recombined as Pterotrigonia (Pterotrigonia) pseudocaudata by Stilwell (1998).
