Taxonomy
Elobiceras primordiale was named by Haas (1942) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; West Africa.]. Its type specimen is AMNH 25163, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hanha, near Lobito (Vernay collection), which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Angola.
