Taxonomy
Ammonites daintree was named by Etheridge (1872) [DISTRIBUTION: Albian; Australia.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hughenden Station, Flinders River [Tambo Series], which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in Australia. It is the type species of Boliteceras.

It was recombined as Beudanticeras daintree by Whitehouse (1926); it was recombined as Boliteceras daintree by Whitehouse (1928).
