Taxonomy
Syringoceras was named by Hyatt (1894) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen Tr Nori Sepkoski's reference number: 995]. Its type is Ammonites granulosostriatus.

It was assigned to Syringonautilidae by Teichert et al. (1964); and to Nautilida by Sepkoski (2002).
