Trisauropodiscus superaviforma was named by Ellenberger (1970). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Maphutseng II tracksite (zone A/4), which is in a Norian/Rhaetian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Elliot Formation of Lesotho.

P. Ellenberger 1972Sous le même genre, et aux côtés de tridactyles aviformes minuscules, nous plaçons cet animal dont les 3 doigts filiformes sont bien plus grands. On devine les maigres coussinets des phalanges. Il y a un point rond, isolé, caractéristique, à l'arrière de la patte.
- PES: Longueur du pied, 165 mm (du doigt II, 120 mm; de III, 120 mm; de IV, 130 mm; projection de III en avant du bout des doigts latéraux, 75 mm). Largeur du pied entre l'extrémité des doigts latéraux, 230 mm. Divarication totale II-IV, 110° (II-III, 52° ; III-IV, 58°). Les coussinets de phalanges indiquent une formule phalangienne possib1e: (1)-3-3-4-(1). L'arrière du pied forme au point de réparation des trois doigts une très petite sole pédieuse bilobée à l'arrière de laquelle se trouve située vers l'extérieur, c'est-à-dire à 20 mm derrière l'origine du IVe doigt un petit creux circulaire: il paraît être le “pendant” chez cette espèce majeure, du trait (doigt I retourné) que l'on voit chez T. aviforma.
- MANUS: Nous n'avons pas discerné la marque de la main au sol.
- PISTE: Enjambée, 1,00 m + (Pas = 0,60 m ?), Ped. angulatio, ? Ecartement: la démarche n'est pas bien visible. Une piste semble être accompagnée latéralement (pourquoi ?) d'une piste de queue sinueuse.
