Taxonomy
Pseudotrisauropus maserui was named by Ellenberger (1970). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Race Course tracksite, Maseru (zone A/3), which is in a Carnian terrestrial sandstone in the Molteno Formation of Lesotho.

P. Ellenberger 1972Bipède tridactyle au grand pied étalé, au doigt médian peu projeté en avant, aux doigts larges et épais portant des ongles arrondis plutôt que des griffes, à l'arrière du pied large et carré.
- PES: Longueur du pied, 290 mm (du doigt II, 140 mm; de III, 170 mm; de IV, 180 mm; projection de III en avant du bout des doigts latéraux, 90 mm). Largeur du pied entre l'extrémité des doigts latéraux, 225 mm. Divarication totale II-IV, 33° (II-III, 11° ; III-IV, 22°). Les coussinets de phalanges sont englobés dans une épaisse pulpe digitale. L'arrière du pied est d'apparence trilobée. Le "talon" est raccourci, avec une proéminence à peine visible à l'origine de la 1ère phalange du IVe doigt, le pied 'pouvant être inscrit dans un carré disposé normalement sur l'axe de la marche. Peut-être y a-t-il une sorte de palme incomplète reliant les doigts.
- MANUS Etant bipède, cet animal n'a pas touché de ses mains le sol.
- PISTE: Enjambée, 1,32 m environ (Pas = 0,66 m ?), Ped. angulatio, 10°? la démarche n'est pas bien connue, mais paraît montrer une légère oscillation.
