Taxonomy
Vestinautilus was named by Ryckholt (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-u C Vise-u Sepkoski's reference number: 524]. Its type is Nautilus koninckii.

It was assigned to Nautilida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Trigonoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964) and Korn et al. (2022).
