Grallator rectilineus

Taxonomy
Prototrisauropus rectilineus was named by Ellenberger (1970). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Phuthiatsana tracksite (zone A/3), which is in a Norian terrestrial sandstone in the Elliot Formation of Lesotho.

It was recombined as Grallator rectilineus by Olsen and Galton (1984).

Ellenberger 1972Cet ensemble de pistes très homologues révèle l'existence en ce Molteno moyen à supérieur d'un grand tridactyle bipède un peu similaire morphologiquement aux précédents, mais dont les coussinets phalangiens (articulaires) sont arrondis, avec une cambrure typique des doigts III et IV, et un doigt II plus divergent, ainsi que son ongle.
