Serapia eocaena

Taxonomy
Serapia eocaena was named by Simons (1992). Its type specimen is CGM 42286, a mandible (right mandible wth complete horizontal ramus and damaged symphysis), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry L-41 (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian lacustrine mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Serapia.
