Taxonomy
Arsinoea kallimos was named by Simons (1992). Its type specimen is CGM 42310, a mandible (left mandibular ramus with I1-M3 with partial coronoid and articular processes), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry L-41 (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian lacustrine mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt. It is the type species of Arsinoea.
