Taxonomy
Arganodus atlantis was named by Martin (1979). Its type specimen is MNHN Tal 303, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality X, Tizi n'MaĆ¢chou, which is in a Carnian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Timezgadiouine Formation of Morocco.
